The House of Bear-Terri

The Monarchy

The House of Bear-Terri are the crowned monarchs and supreme rulers of Beardia, officially at least! The family of Terri, the founder of Terrius, are both powerful and respected. From the prime piece of real estate that is the Keep of Terrius (Kings Keep), they look out upon the city that is theirs. Terrius was founded by King Terri to be his final resting place after his long journey searching for the land of dreams. He had, with a group of many others known as the 1st ones, traveled far to settle in Beardia in the first age and they founded many settlements. Terrius was his favorite and he controlled it as his own. A strewed move as the other mighty settlements now lie in ruins while his castle of Kings Keep is surrounded by the largest city ever known.

Yet for all their power and prestige the Bear-Terri now face more than they can handle. So many have migrated to the city of Terrius that the faithful to Terri dwindle, the republic has adapted better than the dusty old Monarchy and takes over much of the rule. Things were probably soured further after the rule of the three monki Kings. These stepsons of Terri ruled over Terrius after him and while all shaped the city in their own positive way they all ended in disaster; now leaving the monarchy directionless

Curiously the three Monki Kings remain in Kings Keep as does King Terri and his Queen due to the unique nature of the Monarchy. Owed to Beardians living so long the King gives up his crown when he feels his job is done not in death; In this way Princes succeed to become Kings then when their time is up return to being Princes once again never able to be recrowned. This is with the exception of the eternal King Terri who gets to keep the King title; that said he hasn't been seen for an age or even two so who knows! His farther the Blue King, now simply known as the Blue Bear, is seen more often. A highly confusing business is the house of Bear-Terri that it is no wonder the Republic has been more successful at winning the hearts of the people of late.

Due to years of political challenge and the squandering their once unrivaled wealth, the last remaining asset of the House of Bear-Terri is the Kings Keep itself and the Royal Guard. The Order of Bear-Terri, also know as the Royal Guard, or the Knights of Terrius or the Green Cloaks or Keepers of King or what ever other name you wish, have been guarding the Keep and the City of Terrius for uncountable ages. They control access to the city, keep order in the East of the city and are the finest fighting force in the world. Each Knight trains constantly behind the walls of the keep and they had repelled countless invasions with their marshal prowess. The Bear in charge of the Knights of Terrius is known as the Steward and it has only ever been one bear; General Coco, Terri's oldest friend and loyalist Knight.

Many say that Coco is the true master of Terrius but this would be to under estimate his loyalty, Coco has all the power within his claws but he wields none of it unless the royal family instruct him to do so. This though may not be a good thing as while Coco is doing a sterling job carrying out the final orders of the last King, to protect the city, there is no King to instruct him to do any otherwise. Perhaps Coco waits the next successor of Terri? Perhaps Terri is instructing him personally on his wishes? Who knows but many wonder if now the Stewards have gone the way of the Monarchs, would Coco blindly follow an ever aging order while Beardia burns?
